Calendar events not saving while traveling

Just noticed that newly inputed Calendar events would vanish from Calendar on iPhone and iPad while traveling abroad. You would input a new event in Calendar and then a little later on it would be gone. Mind boggling.. Happens on both iPhone 8 Plus and iPad Pro 10.5

When I first save it you can see it saved but later on it would vanish.


iPad Pro is running version 12.1
