Calendar in Today view

What the hell did Apple do here? I really liked the view of seeing all of your upcoming events on a timeline. Anyone know if you can get it back?

The view in notification center depends on how you view your calendar. If you have the month view enabled, the notification center appears as cells. If you have day view enabled, it looks like timeline. Same as iOS7.1

My calendar under Today view shows "No events" for today and tomorrow, even though I have some. They are on a shared calendar, if that makes any difference. Not sure what the problem is.

I see... I guess my calendar view was reset with iOS 8 because it always showed the timeline before.
