One of my favorite parts of using a smartphone is having a calendar built in to keep up with all my important dates. But why doesn't Apple allow other apps to tap into the calendar like Blackberry does. I can not stand using a blackberry but you could easily add dates to the calendar. This is one of my biggest wants for iOS 5.

Agree? Disagree? Cyida tweak that does this?

Apps have been able to do this since iOS 4.0

It's up to developers to add the functionality where appropriate.

Wow did not know. Well then, now I guess I need the app devs to make this happen across the board. I don't have any apps that do this. It'd be nice if they all did.

I have at least one app that does it. It's basically another calendar program that syncs with ical (that has a helluva lot better interface than ical. Only reason I stick with ical though is I have mobileme and I like the syncing without having to actually connect it to my computer, that's really the only reason I even have mobileme).
