Calendar Question

On planet earth & in Hotlanta Ga.
I opened my iPhone 5 to the calendar to check a appointment and all the dots under the numbers were gone. Now when I enter a appointment and hit done it is gone. It will not save anything and all that were in there are now gone. I am a senior citizen and my life depends on this phone calendar. Please help. :confused:
 
Just a suggestion... If you fixed the problem please post the solution. That way anyone else who has the same trouble in the future can find the answer and not just an "I fixed it" post.
