I have an iMac - running Mavericks - and iPhone 5s - on 8.4.1 , until recently if I made a change to a Calendar on either device it automatically updated on the other but for some reason this has stopped happening. AFAIK I have not made any changes or updates. I have also noticed that the Contacts list has also not updated when I made some changes on the iPhone. Yet Photos I take with the iPhone appear in the Photostream on iPhoto.

Any ideas what might have caused this?

I have checked that all the relevant boxes are ticked in iCloud settings.

Try rebooting all devices. Happened to me last week where my Macs on Yosemite were updating one another, but not my 8.4 5s. I was moments from logging out of iCloud, but rebooting fixed it.

Many thanks, just done that and Calendar and Contacts now back in sync.

Should have thought of that I guess. Will do if there is a next time.

I can't even remember when my Calendar, Contacts, Photo's and Reminders were in sync on my devices.
Please, don't blame yourself for iCloud's malfunctioning. I've learned not to trust that service, EVER.
