iPod touch Calendar syncing issues

I have mobileme set up. Occasionally a new event will be created on my mac (set to sync every hour - never sleeping) and I the next day it still will not be synced with my ipod touch (set to sync every 15 min). I never power down the ipod touch (only put it to "sleep").

Other times it will work fine. When I change from "every 15 min" to "push", then the event shows up immediately.

Is this common? Am I setting something up wrong? Thanks.

well push is faster then 15 min, and it uses much less battery, so its prly a good idea 2 just keep it on push

I had always thought push uses more battery than 15 minutes. Am I mistaken? Anyway that still doesn't resolve my issue.
