Hi all,
I'm a bit confused about the whole iCloud business.
From what I can gather everything get's synced to the cloud and then distributed to your iOS devices, providing you have it set-up. I've set everything up and set up a test event on my iPhone to check it works between my Macbook Pro and iPhone. I then plugged in my iPhone and hit backup now, it took a good while to sync (an hour or so), but nothing has changed. My test event is still only on my iPhone, am I missing something here?

Also, does this mean my iPhone won't sync over 3G and it requires Wi-Fi and a charging point?

Sync happens over 3G as well. It is not part of backup. It just happens.

Things to check -

on Mac-
icloud is logged in & cal is checked & it is the same itunes acocunt

iphone -
settings -> icloud; make sure that it is set up correctly.

web -
try logging into icloud.me and see if it shows up there.

I just verified that photos sync after a long update process for iphoto, but that is another story.
