What's the best way to do this? I've done some research and it looks like you need to:

1) Let the phone drain all the way to 0% so it shuts itself off.

2) Plug the phone in and begin charging it.

3) When the phone comes back on shut it off via the slider and allow it to continue charging while off.

4) Let it charge all the way to 100% uninterrupted and allow it to charge an addition 2-3 hours after hitting 100%.

5) Turn the phone back on.

6) Do a soft-reset by holding down the home and power buttons until you see the Apple logo.

7) Your phone is now calibrated.

Is this correct or is there a better way to do it?

Omit steps 3-6. Let the phone charge to 100% before you remove the charger. And only do this every 90 days or so, since Li-ion batteries don't like being run to 0.
