So this is the first time I have bought tickets in years.

Do I win anything if I match 1 number to the mega number? How exactly does this work?

Yes, completely true! Playing the Lottery is throwing money away. However, if you do it for fun and have money to spare, go ahead and play it. People spend money on plenty of other things that are just as bad or worse.

On the other hand, if you are struggling financially or actually expect to make money off of it, For the love of God stop playing the lottery.
