Hey. Did anyone notice that the black background of the California/Meridian watchfaces are not pitch black? When I’m in very dark surround the black background of these watchfaces is slightly glowing (even in AOD). Any ideas why? I mean if the pixels are glowing they use battery. I don’t see the sense here. As this behaviour is identical on all my watches I had before (4/5/SE) I don’t think it’s a hardware issue of my Series 7. Also all the other watchfaces are pitch black. You can also see that they are not completely black when you have another black watchface besides the California / Meridian and slowly swipe to change between them.

What’s the exact color you chose for the watch faces? Let me test it.

Black

Just chose the same colour and it looks black to me.. maybe I will test it later tonight.
Anyway I’m using the color Evergreen to match with my brown leather strap.

You can only see it when you are in a pitch black surrounding.

For me it seems that compared to other watchfaces (e.g. Numerals) in the area of the black background the pixels are not completely shut off.

Yeah but that’s not what I meant. The circle is clearly a different color. More a dark grey. But If you chose fullscreen it appears to be black but somehow it isn’t.
