Call blocking

I think I've run into the first feature on iPhone today I'm going to sorely miss from Android and I'm hoping there's a work around.

On Android I had a call blocking app. It would block unknown callers and just drop their call. They couldn't even leave a message.

Is there such a thing for iPhone?

On iOS, you can block numbers of callers you don't want to contact you:

As for a whitelist, the closest thing would be Do Not Disturb.

However, this only works when the phone is locked.

Call blocking

That doesn't work for numbers that are blocked. It only works if there's a number associated with the call. I believe it also dumps them into your voice mail. I want the call to be dropped so they can't leave a message.

One partial solution would be the Do Not Disturb feature. You won't be disturbed, though they may be able to leave voicemail.

For additional blocking, I think you would need to call your carrier.

I think you're right. That's something I'll miss from Android, but I'll get over it.
