In its case.
I’ve had my iPhone 13 for 3 months now, and I’ve had lots of opinions (and have asked for more) about cases, and whether a case is necessary at all. I carried it with no case for a while, but the glass on the back is so slippery the phone keeps sliding off chair armrests and pantlegs etc. I used a Supcase for a while, but the Mute switch was hard to reach; and have been using a $10 Mall Booth no-name case for a few weeks now.

But insecurity has gotten to me. Fortunately in its first 3 months, it is still pristine and scratchless; nevertheless today I got an Otterbox Defender Pro, which is what both of my previous iPhones lived in. I’ve always trusted these cases, and now I feel better about my iPhone investment.

I've used Otterbox Commuter cases since my iPhone 5. Mr. Butterfingers drops his phone regularly, and the only damage *ever* was some scuffmarks on the case.

I've always done Otterbox Commuters... except with my iPhone 12 PM last year. Tried an Apple case. Huge mistake. That Apple silicone case breaks down FAST, and it offered zero protection the first time I dropped that phone. Scraped the hell out of the corners of the phone; thankfully didn't break glass, and the iPUP didn't penalize me for that damage at trade-in when I got my 13PM.

Back to Otterbox for my 13PM. Won't stray again.

I used the defender cases for years starting with the 3G phones. I remember leaving the AT&T at the mall with my teenagers with multiple new 3G iphones in tow, all in Otterboxes. Those were the days...

I went to commuters myself, because I’ve never been hard on phones, but still made my husband and teens use defenders.

Now I use Loopy cases because I’m hung up on the loop. I’ve been using them since the 8 series, and all my adult daughters have them on their phones as well. Now I’m buying protective cases for grandkids’ phones. ;-p

I would try it for an upcoming trip- but it doesn’t work with my ESR screen protector
If it’s memories of the old plastic “screen protector” that used to be on Defenders, no worries - they don’t do that any longer, so it should fit ok. If I misunderstood (cuz I don’t know what “ESR” is) just ignore my message.

Weird. I also tried it with my large case of choice- Armadillotek Vanguard, and it pulls the corners up.

Is yours a full screen protector?

UPDATE: Got the Defender Pro in Hunter green and the mustard yellow colored plastic frame was peeling up my glass. Put the original black frame on with the hunter green rubber and everything is fine now. I think the Hunter Green silicone with the black shell looks pretty cool.
