ok, i'm trying to work on my website.
i downloaded taco html edit, as i've heard good reviews, but it didn't work (i think because of 10.2.8)

anyway, i tried opening the html files in textedit, but it just launches safari.

how can i open the raw script?????

it should be easier than this.

Reality

I don't do anything like you do, but i do you know you will find something until taco starts working again at this site.

Launch Text Edit. Then use the 'Open' command in the 'File' menu. You can select the html document you want to edit from there.

Doesn't get much easier than that.

Or open text edit then drag the file onto the textedit icon in the dock, or right click/control-click on the file you want to open and go into the "open with..." menu and select the app you want to use.

I use Taco, and it works well. I really don't think 10.2.8 has anything to do with it not working.

Nice response to someone who's trying to help you.

Even though you have your problem figured out, I think your problem might have been caused by TextEdit rendering HTML unless you tell it to specifically not do so. Just go to Preferences and check the two boxes under "RTF Processing." This should force TextEdit to open everything in plain text.

taco is the best free html editing tool i've seen and i use it daily. what kind of problems are you having that prevent it from launching? is there an error dialog? does it crash on launch?
