Call of Duty 2 gun has no sound

Everything else works (sound) in COD 2 except the gun both in single player and multi has no sound. I've re-installed and upgraded the patch and still not working. Mac G5 2.33

Check that the output sample rate is set to at least 44.1 Khz in Audio Midi Setup (in the utilities folder).
