I saw that yesterday morning. Pretty neat, though I got it for cheaper from Steam (PC version of course).

Aspyr appear to be joining the Apple App Store. That is a stab in the guts for Steam.

i checked the system requirements. I need something clarified. I have an original AL macbook. It has the 9400M chipset. 2.4 GHz core 2 duo.

I see the 9400 is a supported chipset, but I don't know if the 9400 and 9400M are the same. I am guessing that they are not.

Will this game even run on my laptop?

Thanks

would this game be impossible to play with the Trackpad?

Also i have the bottom line i3 3.06ghz machine. Would that cope with this?

It's available for me in the UK. I already have the retain CD version though.

As far as I know, only one of Aspyr's mac ports is on Steam. The rest are unavailable, much to my annoyance. I was hoping Aspyr and Steam could make friends, but apparently not.

Not available in Austria. :(

This is a big move, hopefully we'll see plenty of good games at reasonable prices that are quick and easy to download. I'd also like to see some older classics at really low prices too.

im so tempted to buy this right now! i have the original aluminium unibody macbook. reading this thread, apparently the game runs fine with 9400 gpu? does the multiplayer work fine ? and is it hard to play with the trackpad? should i use an external controller?

I've been holding out for this on Steam, but as it looks unlikely to appear I think I'll get the MAS version. Aspyr really got upset about the Civ IV stuff didn't they?

Multiplayer will work fine with supported GPU's. It's a four year old game. Your mac will more than likely play it. Using a trackpad for FPS gaming is not recommended. Just get a cheap twobuttonsandascrollwheel usb mouse. I'm afraid I know nothing about external gamepads, but they should work if you have the correct drivers installed.

And who can blame them? It's not looking good for Steam Mac at the moment. Aspyr and Feral have a great back catalogue they can offer to Mac users, which will also encourage newly developed games to also go to the App Store.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. I expected the price to be like $30-$35, maybe even 19.99. That would sell like crazy probably. I bet it's just because its relatively new to the Mac platform. Or is it? I don't really follow Mac gaming.

Not that new, but up until now it's only really been available as a boxed title. I suppose thanks to us having less top titles to choose from they've got more scope to gouge the users than they do on the PC.

Saying that, I'll be surprised if this doesn't make the developers an absolute fortune over the next couple of days even at this price point. It's too convenient.
