I run a podcast and record audio for my work. I am interested in finding a good call recording app. TapeACall Pro seems decent, but your audio gets recorded to their website, where I assume you have to retrieve it?

Is there an app that lets you record right to your iPhone, like as a voice memo?

Thank you for any replies.

Hey there, unfortunately that's not possible because the apps running on your phone have no way to access the audio from a phone call. That's why they all need to setup a three-way conference call with their service number.

I do make CallTap which is a better app than the competition out there (but I might be biased ;) ). The recording happens over the service number but once the call is finished the recording appears in the CallTap app where you can share it over email or upload it to a cloud service. You can also get it transcribed automatically (machine transcription is not perfect but it saves bunch of time)

I am an indie developer taking pride in the quality of the app. I'm based in Germany, therefore the app is regulated by European GDPR privacy laws and has a very strong privacy policy.

Looking forward to your feedback!
