Call screen freezes after iOS 12 update

Greeting everyone.

I have a month old 8+ in SG. Great phone; my first plus size phone. I have updated to iOS 12 with no problems. Today I went to place a call and my recent calls came up but I couldn't choose any of them nor could I go into keypad to dial a number. I went into imessage and it lagged. I went back into my call screen and it crashed back to the home screen. Once I restarted the phone it appears to be working fine.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or is it a iOS 12 bug?
