Is there a way to turn off the international "+" symbol in iOS 8? I turned off Dial Assist in the phone settings, but every call I receive that is not in contacts comes in the a format like +1-xxx-xxxx. I know it's a non issue and kind of petty, but I find it annoying. Any way to turn get rid of the plus sign?

Learn to love it. It's very useful when you want to call someone from wherever you happen to be (which might be abroad).

By contrast, whenever someone gives me a regular mobile number beginning zero, the first thing I do is internationalise it.
