Hello, people.

I joined this forum specifically for my problem. I can't find a doable solution to this......

For the last few weeks, my iPhone 13 won't show who's calling even if that caller is in my contacts list. It just says No Caller ID in red.
I just got this phone on Feb 1 this year. Caller ID was working fine until a few weeks ago. At first, I didn't pay any mind to it but then started to notice callers in my contact list were also listed as No Caller ID. Also, I didn't mess with any settings.

So, I called my provider Spectrum and they couldn't believe that the setting for turning it on/off isn't there. Spectrum wants me to do a complete factory reset. I said no. I did read today about Network Reset, but I'm cautious to do so at this point. I'm TOTALLY new at smart phones but I'm pretty competent on a PC.

So, I posted a screen shot of what my Phone settings looks like. My number is obviously shaded out. ?

Any ideas? Oh, and I'm running the very latest OS 15.4.1

I don't have it in settings either. I have it listed on my Verizon app and their website. Maybe your service provider is mistaken and it should be listed either in the app or their website..

I'll check my Spectrum app and see............

Not a thing related to my problem on there or even my Spectrum account online.

Frustrating.

No danger in doing a Network Reset. You won't lose data, however, it will require you to re-enter your WiFi password again. The no caller ID is a network or your service provider problem. The only setting you have regarding caller ID is your own caller ID whether to turn it off or not. You have no control over other contacts.

Odd, maybe a carrier side setting?

Here's my Settings…you seem to be missing quite a few.

I do not however see any settings for the caller id of callers however, only whether my own caller id is on or off.

Looks like most of the Calls menu is not there. Here's mine:

Network reset won't do harm, you'll just have to reconnect to your other devices from fresh. I take it you've attempted to power phone off already.

Edit: Perhaps there's a Sync issue if your Contacts are in iCloud. Try turning iCloud off and on again. Still, doesn't really explain those headings missing. It's almost Carrier related sounding, so a reset on that front alone be good to try. It should reconnect automatically.

Yeah, I powered off and on. Also, I powered off Airplane Mode because I read somewhere that this toggle can sometimes fix issues. No dice on either.

Yep, I do backups at work (WiFi in my office). I think I'll wait until Monday, do the quick backup, then reset network settings and see if this is an issue.

Keep in mind, I'm kinda dumb with smart phones. ;) I resisted getting one of these for years, but finally decided to get with the program since certain things are almost impossible to do without on these days.

It's an interesting one. As someone already said, not displaying caller ID should only apply to your number, not all your callers.

I've reset my Network Settings many times without trouble, as long as you don't mind manually reconnection car, WiFi, etc. Carrier connection auto searches and connects. Cannot figure out how those sub-menus have gone though. I wonder if a call to Apple Care would confirm definitely if it's a carrier issue. No doubt Tier 1 support will try, as Spectrum did, getting a complete device reset happening. But if you have a recent backup sitting there, well yer...less work.

Last non-invasive things to look at following ideas above:

1. Settings>General>About...to check if Carrier Update Window pops up
2. Checking the obvious. That correct Date/ Time is displayed
3. Power ph off, remove SIM, wait a couple minutes and reinsert..power back up.

Again, dumb smart phone guy here...... so what is that SIM card for? That's one thing I haven't tried (removing SIM) but remember seeing that somewhere.

I think I'll try the network reset on Monday morning, then go from there if that doesn't take care of it.

Asking is how we learn. SIM = subscriber identity module. It's a physical memory card that identifies you and your device to the chosen carrier, mainly ejectable from the side pf the ph. However, your ph also supports eSIM (electronic SIM ID) without a tray and card, depending how it was set up with the carrier, it will be either.

Removing SIM from iPhone 13: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201337

Be interesting what the problem actually is, so pls post back once resolved. Good luck.

Here in a couple days I'll post my end result(s).

I won't suggest to reset the network settings (you will loose all saved Wifi and bluetooth entries, you have to re-enter, reconfigure all those) or factory reset, these are last thing one should try.

Rather try any or all these: (one of these might resolve the issue)

1. Kill all the running apps.
or
2.Re-start your phone, complete switch off and on again. Absolutely no harm doing this, rather it clears some unwanted memory usage.
or
3. add a new contact entry, and save it
or
4. in Settings - iCloud section: turn OFF contact, wait few seconds (10-15 maybe), turn it ON.

try these first, if nothing works then maybe reset network settings, or factory reset. Good luck.

Well, did a network reset, did the new contact on/off, did restarts, and even did the latest OS update this morning.

Nothing had changed.

That sucks! So if your Contacts are toggled on in iCloud, try changing the language and restart after? Sometime it helps. 15.4.1 is the latest. You wrote in the OP you're already on it. Beta? Short of a revelation by phoning Apple Care, it might end up a restore after all. :(

Edit: Came across, on Apple Discussions, a similar problem. The answer was, that with CDMA carriers (Spectrum appears to be one) menu options aren't supported?! But it sounds like those options were there since Feb, up until a few weeks ago? Perhaps they changed something their end? I'm not in the US, so not familiar with such networks at all.

Gotta ask the obvious question, as don't think it's been asked: have you tapped on the info icon next to these calls? "No Caller ID" is overt *67 and ilk of the number.

Spectrum is piggy backing on Verizon network, so would assume there would be more reported issues if something network related (eg. some foul-up with SHAKEN/STIR protocol).

What does the Spectrum website say/show re: these calls that came in? Number(s) showing there?

Here's what I see when I tap the info icon.........

Nothing to tap.

On the Spectrum site in my account, I can only view calls I made. Weird.

It's not the phone, it's the caller (or Spectrum). That's what you see when the caller number is not being sent to the phone (ie. number blocked by caller).

ADD: calls from numbers that are not blocked would look like attached (substitute Outgoing with Incoming):

There is no option in the iPhone Settings to control incoming calls caller ID. That is either controlled by the person calling or the cell provider. I would suggest you give your cell provider a call and see what they say about the issue.

Well, it's 7½ months later and I finally got this fixed.

Apparently, there were two settings on their end of the same thing. What, I don't know. But the fellow told me that one setting had my caller ID enabled and the same setting elsewhere did not.

He didn't go into specifics, but this was a Spectrum issue.

I had to do a reset, reboot, and nothing had changed. Then he did something on his end, had me reboot again, and then it worked.

Crazy.

For the last few months I've been just dealing with it until today when it irritated me enough to get this fixed.
