I am having a problem connecting to the exclusive bonus content on the acdcrocks.com website.

I have a legit CD with the appropriate markings telling me I can access said content.

Now I have read the instructions and I have no problems up until the point It says It cannot find the appropriate CD in my drive.

I do run safari/firefox using the rosetta designation.

Any Ideas why the website cannot see my CD.

thank you in advance for your time

Probably because it needs to be run from Windows.

*** Edit *** just checked the site for requirements (they are given below). The short of it is that you need (surprisingly) a Mac running Mac OS 8.1 through 9.2.2 (OS X is not supported) or a PC running Windows.

Here's the quote:

Each of the CD's in the Epic-reissued AC/DC catalog will enable fans to access exclusive bonus content specific to each individual release, including rare audio and video footage, extended liner notes, photos, historically accurate memorabilia & tour dates, and more!

In order to get ConnecteD, you will need the following:
A CD copy of an AC/DC re-issue
A PC (minimum system requirements)
A CD-ROM drive
An Internet connection

Agreed, However I dug a little deeper and it stated:

-- Start from acdcrocks.com

MAC OSX is not supported (but from what we hear, if you boot into Mac OS 9 you should be able to access the ConnecteD - you may need to increase the memory of your browser by clicking "Get Info" from the File menu.)

End from acdcrocks.com --

Can one boot into OS 9 from OS X?.....Or is that a Dual OS system, ie: One would need to buy OS 9 as well?

thanks again!

You would have to have OS 9 as well. Although it might possibly work by installing Classic in OS X 10.4.x or older. Classic would be a virtual OS 9 environment running within OS X. It may or may not do the trick. If your machine is a PowerPC computer, then Classic will be on the original install disks / restore disks that came with the computer.

If you have an Intel computer, then you cannot run OS 9 or Classic on it anyway.

As for dual booting, most of the machines produced in recent years will not boot OS 9. So, you would need a fairly old Mac to boot OS 9 directly.

Guess that means No ACDC Bonus Material.

note to acdc band members:

Sorry boys (ACDC), but if its run windows or not watch your material, its not watch your material.... Its Not that I don't like you, its I Deplore Microsoft.

Please factor in OS X

Maybe the guys from AC/DC just prefer the Classic Mac :D

Vintage all the way ;)

Nostalgia aside, I do find it weird the OS 9 will work, but OS X will not.
