So I was on a trip to NJ for the holiday week, and saw this bird flying around by a stream. I lived in NJ for 23 years, and have never seen this kind of bird, can;t seem to find it online anywhere. Just curious if anybody knows what it is, or has a book they can look it up in?

I'd say it was a medium size.

Any thoughts?

Looks to be about the size of a Bluejay, maybe? Not really sure, my backyard bird book is presently in my apartment storage space.

I used to live on the second floor of a two-family place, and the previous tenant had place a bird feeder on a small platform, right outside the kitchen window. I took to filling it up and watching. I never realized there so many different kinds of birds just in the backyard. I do miss that.

Cool, I forgot about this thread. I was just wondering, since I've never seen a bird like it especially in NJ.
