Calling differnt country doesn't work?!

just activated my UK phone and I can call UK mobiles but not Germany. Do I need to do anything else to get that "feature"?

I tried to call London from Denver just yesterday and was asked to call "611" Customer Service so that they could turn the international calling on. Dunno how it works in Europe between countries, but I was surprised that I actually had to set up international calling. I assumed they would just charge me...

talked to O2 customer service and they will do something to fix it. Don't know what the problem is. It will take up to 24 hours.
