So I know with the Series 0 and Series 2, calls made via the watch would not route to bluetooth headsets paired with the watch (even if it was through Wifi Calling). Do we know if now that the watch has its own cellular connection can calls be made through bluetooth headsets. I ask for when I go out with just the watch and want to make a call through the headsets I'm using on my run or bike ride.

Bumping this up now that people have the watch. Can anyone test this? For instance you are out running with your airpods or other bluetooth headsets paired to the watch (no iPhone), can you make a call on the watch and use your headsets for the call?

Would be a bit daft if you couldn’t.
Haven’t opened my AirPods yet, but it’s one of the main reasons I bought the watch and the AirPods.

Well I don't own Airpods, but on the Series 2 with Beats Solo3 playing music through them, even when you are using WiFi calling and your phone is in airplane mode, the call is routed through the watch speaker, not the headphones

First thing I tested with Airpods....audio is now routed thru Airpods for calls on S3.

Awesome! By any chance do you have non-apple or Beats bluetooth headphones to try also?
