So I've been using my apple watch series 4 for workouts extremely consistently since release and prior to that a series 2. I have YEARS of data saved and my workouts have evolved but after upgrading last week to my ULTRA there is a pretty significant difference in my active calories burned in my first couple of workouts with my new watch. I have double checked to make sure my body measurements are still accurate, I calibrated the watch with an 20 min outdoor walk, and checked some other settings as well. Everything looks to be set up correctly.

For example... yesterday and today were my first 2 workouts with my new watch. Both workouts were about 55 minutes and I compared the results from my new watch to the same workouts done the previous weeks with my old watch. My average heart rate was about the same so I know the intensity was on par, however my active calories were at least 100 calories lower for both workouts. Usually I'm right around 500 active calories in my workouts and the last 2 days I struggled to get to 400 with the new watch. Again, I have years of data to back up what I'm saying so I know it doesn't have anything to do with my duration or intensity.

I also upgraded to 9.2 so I'm wondering if it's the software of the watch.

Hi - same problem here. My boyfriend and I went to the same yoga class, had the same amount of time (+- 20 seconds) and I had 158 calories burned and he had 298 calories burned. Yes he’s a male, yes he has a couple of years on me but we’ve compared stats before and not had this huge difference. I went from closing all 3 rings almost every single day with usually just a yoga session and maybe an ab workout to hardly ever being able to close the move ring. My watch battery typically dies before I can get in enough activity to get 800 move points. Very frustrating.
