Hello there! I'm wondering if anyone has any good suggestions about a good HD camcorder to buy for a MacBook Pro. I used my friend's Sony HDR-CX500, and it works great, but perhaps there might be other suggestions, too. Just wondering what different people think. Thanks a lot!:)

What is your budget and what are your expectations for that future camcorder of yours?

Well, I could spend $1000 - $1200 if necessary. I would use the camera for recording my students when they sing, when they play outside, when I am teaching, etc. Doesn't have to be too fancy, but I do want good HD quality.

If you can manage to spend a little more, I would recommend this camera

with an added hot shoe adapter and a external microphone. No camera is going to give you the sound quality you would want of people singing without external mics.
