Camera Button on lock screen gone?

I have a iPhone 4S and since I updated to the latest 8.1 iOS the button that lets you swipe up to activate the camera is gone. Anyone else notice that? Can I bring it back? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's still there in 8.1 and as far as I know there isn't even a way to turn it off unless you completely disable the camera. Did you try restarting?

restarting it helped, its there again. I just don't know why it would disappear in the first place. Thank you!

Mine did that once too, hard restart fixed it as well.
