camera connection does not pull photos in New iPad?

Does the camera connection still work? I bought it in 2 yrs ago for the ipad 1 then... I have the ipad 3 or new ipad. I put a 64GB SDXC card with about 2000+ photos but it says it cannot read media.. but when put into iMac it works. Is there a limation to the size of the SD card itself.. or is there an update? Such a waste that the camera connection does not work well.

SDXC is not supported.

I've used mine ok a few times

I bought the camera connection kit and have used the SD reader a few times on my new iPad (3rd gen). I plugged into the bottom, inserted the card and then opened the builtin pictures app. It acted just like pictures on my mac where it asked if I wanted to import, and then asked if imported pics should be deleted.

I only have done 1-10 pics at a time. So I'm not doing as many pics so I don't know if this is helpful.
