Probably a weird request but have any of you found a well-made camera cover that fits well.

Also, I know tape works

Tape would probably be best. I've seen the thickness of some cause the LCD to get cracked when put in a bag and other items put pressure on it.

I agree with hallux, anything thicker than something like black electrical tape could cause problems when the laptop is closed. On my work laptop, I use a camera blocking app. I have tested it and while it still allows some access to the camera, the output is basically unusable.

Thanks guys that makes sense.

gwerhart0800 what app is it? Or is it a windows machine?

Just to toss this out there: Is there any specific reason you’d like to cover the camera?

If it’s for security reasons, Apple has designed the iSight camera in such a way that the camera receives power from the green led that tells you it is on. There is absolutely no way for someone to hack your machine, turn on the camera, and you to not be notified of it.

I know that this isn’t normal behavior on PCs, and that is why most people choose to cover them.

Thought I’d ask.
