well i have a sony dcr-sr82 that im using with my mac but i cannot use the files that come out as mpeg and when i try to open them in imovie i get

The file could not be imported: The file "Macintosh HD/Users/sniper/Desktop/movie.mpg" can't be imported; QuickTime couldn't parse it: -2048

Can someone please help?
