I prefer taking photos in landscape mode in 16:9 so they fit better on an iPad or Apple TV. Plus I just like the way they look better then 4:3. My question is does taking the pics in 16:9 degrade the quality at all?

Thanks for any thoughts.

If you are coming from a phone with a 4:3 sensor and crop to a 16:9 aspect ratio, you are taking a bit of the pixels away because you’re cropping.

You can also try the occasional panorama photo if you like an even wider image.

I should have added I am using the 12 Pro. So when I open. The camera I chose 16:9 from the phone menu. So ami losing anything using 16:9?

It is still a crop as the sensor is unlikely to be in that format hence my note on cropping still applies.
