Camera Roll photos missing after sync

I restored my iPhone 4 from an iCloud backup. While restoring my photos I watched it complete "Downloading xxxx of 1174 photos" in the photo app. Before the restore I had 1174 photos in my camera roll. After the download finished I only have 24 photos in my camera roll. It appears that its only showing the photos I've taken since upgrading to 5.1 about two weeks ago? Where are the other 1150 photos it took about 30 minutes to download?

Check your photos section of the sync settings. They should indicate a directory you are syncing to. Maybe they synced to your hard drive last time you plugged into itunes
