Hi all. I am not sure if this is the best place for this question as I don't know if it is a MacBook Photos issue, an iPhone 8 Plus issue, or an iOS 11 issue.

Ever since moving over to the 8 Plus and iOS 11, I am having major issues trying to import photos and videos from my cameral roll to the Photos application on my MacBook. In the newer Photos app, a larger portion of my pictures and videos are not even showing up as available to import. And for nearly all of the videos which do, when I try to import, I get the following error:

Cannot Import Item
This item cannot be added to your Photo library because it may be a recognizable file format or the file may not contain valid data.

The reason code states:

Unsupported file type

I cannot for the life of me figure this out. It is only with photos or pics taken on this phone, and since moving to iOS 11. I am not sure if it has anything to do with this new HEIF/HEVC format I have turned on? But I would think anything taken by the iPhone, that plays back without issue on an iPhone, would not be unsupported by the MacBook Photo app.

Has anyone read anything on this or had it happen to them? I really want to get these files on my computer. Thanks.
