Recently I have noticed some strange camera feeds streaming behaviors. In HomeKit, on Favorite page, you normal see the camera feeds automatically streaming play about 10 to 22 seconds looping continuously. Now, after recently updating to iOS 18.3.1, the camera feeds are only automatically played 10 to 12 seconds looping when I am on Home network. If I am off site, such as on cell connection, no automatically camera feeds. I have to click each camera to start seeing the live feeds, then after returned to Favorite page, the camera feed will continue indefinitely until I close the Home app, not 10 to 12 seconds looping any more. Is this a feature from 18.3 or this is a bug?

I have never seen any camera in the home app continuously provide a live feed except when you view the individual ones. On any page where there are multiple cameras, they update every 10 seconds and that has always been the case for me over the many years of using it.

+1 to what StumpyBloke said. Those are not and never were live feeds unless you open the camera. It’s just a still image that’s updating. The sooner they update the better. 10 second updates are the best I’ve seen and the way it’s programmed by Apple in the software.
That said, it used to be 10 seconds when you’re on the same network as the camera and 1 minute when off the network. Apple changed that a couple iOS updates ago for it to be 10 seconds when on and off the network.
Furthermore, I noticed that a good indication of a camera with a bad connection (network/WiFi issues) is if it takes the camera longer to update the still image.
If you want a page with all live feeds showing at once, there are apps that do that. I personally have the HomeCam app.

Yes. The Favorite page is where multiple cameras are displayed. Either with multiple cameras or individual camera in particular room display, when I am outside my home, I no longer get every 10 seconds update anymore, I have to click on the cameras in order to get streaming view, which is normal. But when I am in my home on the same network, I do get usual 10 seconds camera view update without have to click on cameras.
