Camera taking too many pics

Hello gang,
Every time I take a selfie (I think that's the only time it happens) it shoots a burst of 10 pics. Let's say I want to take a selfie from a distance I put the timer on and then it takes a picture but a burst of 10. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I'm pressing something by mistake. What can I do to make it stop doing that?

That's how timer shots work now, and I know it sucks. Apple in their infinite wisdom feel they know what is best for us.
