Hello, unfortunately my camera did the vibration when I used snapchat this morning... there probably will be permanent damage on the stabilisation right? I know apple said that "all is fine" but I don't really buy that bs, ofc they gonna say that its fine and not recall all their newly released 1500€ iPhones. What's your thoughts on it? Personally I have decided to return the phone and scrap upgrading this year entirely. The island was much less impressive than I imagined and honestly, how many photos am I realistically taking? So the improved camera also doesn't warrant an upgrade. Just doesn't seem to be worth the money at all (coming for a normal 13).

I would say if you feel uncomfortable about possible damage to your unit I would go ahead and exchange it and then not download Snapchat again until after the update. The way I look at it is the pill design is going to be present on the iPhone for a number of years just from past history of apples design cycle. So you don’t want to be stuck with a notch design that’s going to drastically go down in value once all iPhones are on board with a pill design after 2023.

Thats what I would do anyway…

There’s no evidence of any kind of damage and no reason to think that’s even possible. If it bothers you though just return it.

There’s multiple threads with pages of replies going into this topic though.

If it has happened once and for a second or so. Don’t worry. It’s only when it happens for a minute or long (prolonged period) which it would be an issue. Just check your camera focuses as expected and you should be good.

Reading some of these threads I feel like people are crazy when it comes to Apple products. I’d keep using the new iPhone - it’s most likely fine. If you notice a problem send it in for a service repair. You still have the 1 year warranty and personally I always add AppleCare+ to my iPhone for additional piece of mind.

Good luck!

I am not so sure if that camera rattle thing is entirely a software issue because not all iphone 14’s exhibit the same problem with those apps

It can affect iPhones depending on many factors; apps you have, lighting in room when using camera, depth of focus when app opens etc

Seems a bit of a pointless post if you've returned it anyway due to being underwhelmed.
