Trying to update my Mac OS and get this message:

Every time I try to restart I get that message. How do I get back to where I was on previous os??

This issue is NOT resolved. Can’t figure out how to change that setting on this post.

Here's how:
1. BEFORE you attempt the update, use either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to create a BOOTABLE cloned backup of your internal drive to an external drive.
2. Then ... if the update doesn't go well, you can do this:
3a. BOOT FROM the cloned, bootable backup.
3b. ERASE your internal drive -- Nuke the entire drive back to "zero".
3c. RE-clone the cloned backup BACK TO the internal drive.
4. Now you will be "right back where you started from". Just like you'd never "left".

But again, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT CLONED BACKUP FIRST!

Without it, you might still "get back", but it's not going to be quite so easily done.
