I bought a new (used) top case for a 2012 MBP non retina 15" and the trackpad was cracked in transit. Can I swap the trackpad out from a 2012 13" top case if I have the correct 15" cable? It looks like this can be done, but wanted MR feedback. Thanks in advance.

The answer appears to be NO. From my research anyhow.

The ribbon cable connector from the 13 goes straight out and connects, the 15 goes out, makes a turn for about the length of the trakpad, makes another turn and connects.
I believe these are the MBP's you are talking about but I may be wrong.

Check out these two links:

13 inch MBP

The seller is sending a 15" trackpad but I think the ribbon cable on both 13" and 15" trackpads disconnect from the pad; you would simply swap ribbon cable connectors. But I didn't go for it, waiting for replacement. Thank you for taking the time to answer!
