For the SSD+HDD 2011 iMac option, are the SSD and/or HDD SATA connections SATA3 @ 6GBPS like the 2011 MPBs are? I know the SSDs supplied by Apple are SATA2 units, but trying to understand whether I could use a SATA3 SSD to its full potential on a new iMac.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I've been searching for a bit and if it's out there, it's burried.

thanks,
Mark

If you put a SSD in and it shows up as SATA III when it shouldn't you might need to play around with a few settings or reset PRAM...I've seen other people install and have only a SATA II connection for a bit.

Hello, I just purchased a 21.5 Imac and with be here on Tuesday, I am wanting to put a Sata 3 SSD in there, does it take a 3.5" or 2.5" and was there anything special you had to do to upgrade your 27". Thanks for your help, blessings.
