Alright, so in the midst of saving for a macbook a friend is giving me her old one. It's not pretty. It's in bad shape. 2008 model, 15 inch. I have no idea if it's early 2008 or late, but I know it's the entry model. Can it run the following: (I'm guessing no for most of them. Scratch that, all of them)

Adobe CS5(Not entire suite, only a few programs)

Final cut X

iMovie 11(Guessing yes)

Portal 2/Nova 2/other little games

And a few minor editing programs(like audacity)

Would I kill the poor pro by running some of 'em? I also have to upgrade it to snow leopard, it's still on leopard.

Thanks

YES, It will run them excellent, I Actually just ordered the exact model! Mines not in GREAT Shape either, but whatever. For Final cut Pro x & Adobe Programs i would assume, Recommend getting the ram maxed out. Other then that everything else is fine with 4gb ram.

It will runs those games Excelent with the 8600gt. I Do though recommend getting that to an apple store to have the GPU Looked at, the GPU Had a high failure rate, and it sometimes doesn't show if it is bad. Good luck!

Where did you order yours from? I'm interested in purchasing one also.
