Hello everyone,

Wanted to know if I use a 3840X2160 wallpaper will my battery hold less then if I use the original macbook wallpaper? But the wallpaper isn't changing just one wallpaper.

I Attached the wallpaper I am using.

Thank you

My opinion is that wallpaper will have no impact on the battery, unless you use a wallpaper for an all white bright background.

Unless it's an OLED, the colour of the wallpaper should make a negligible difference to power consumption. In fact, on an LCD, an all white background would probably slightly decrease power consumption because the RGB elements will be at the "off" position instead of "on".

I have noticed on a relatively old laptop, using a high resolution wallpaper, the fan stays on for a longer time and the laptop heats up, like overloading the processor/gpu. So indirectly it can affect the battery. Also on iphone 3gs, if the album artwork is very high res, the coverflow animation was jagged and even crashed the Music app.
