I found something on my computer..
I dont know what it is..
If you open the finder..
The window opens and at the top it says all my files.. Below all the favorites there is a item called "Shared" with a name zion and a bunch of numbers
What is this?
I click on it and it attempts to connect to it as if it were a server. But a window will pop up and it will say there was a problem connecting to the server. blah blah doesnt exist blah blah check server name.. IP address and such...

It has disappeared from the window... and reappeared..While I have been clicking on it.
Do I need to worry about it?.. What is it?.. How can I get rid of it if it were bad?

Any help would be appreciated. Ask me a question if needed..
I should mention it is also in the admin account.

thanks eric

What sort of network are you connected to? Home, work, school, or somewhere else?

It sounds like it's just a shared drive/server on your network, not something that's actually on your computer.

Yeah, more than likely thats another computer on the network. At my house my iMac shows up on my MacBook. Unless that person gives you permission to view the files on the computer, it's going to say everything you described.

Yes password protected..
No other wireless computers at home..
Yep, that's another computer with sharing enabled. It won't have any effect on your Mac. Make sure your wireless network has a long and complex WPA2 password.

Thanks..
I made certain my sharing is off..
And the firewall is enabled..
I will check the password again..

Your sharing can be off, and firewall on, but other computers/devices on your network that are sharing things themselves will still show on your Finder.

That is not a problem with your Mac. However, if you don't remember naming something 'Zion' then you DO have a network security issue. If someone gets on your network and has a share open, your Mac will see it. If you didn't name a share with that description then it is another computer and you should probably change your router WIFI password ASAP just to prevent folks freeloading on your bandwidth or browsing any shared files.
