Can a Macbook Air use a ACD 23" HD as a second screen?

Can a Macbook Air use a ACD 23" HD as a second screen? It is an acrylic 23" Apple ACD (I do have the DVI to ADC adapter). Will the performance be sluggish? Thanks for your help.

Definitely. Tried it myself on my ACD 23"

It might be worth mentioning that the MBA has the same graphics card (or lack there of) as the Macbook.
