I use a macbook and I have a emac that doesnt do anything but was wondering if I could connect them so the emac is used as another screen.

I would like to have another monitor so I was wondering if my emac would work or do i need to get a plain monitor.

If I need to get a plain monitor what is a good kind but isnt too expensive?

No, there is no video input on the eMac.

You can theoretically use some remote desktop software or VNC to control one machine from the other, but that's not what you are looking for.

(we have covered the topic of 'integrated Mac as second monitor' many times, -- a Search is recommended before starting new threads)

Any relatively recent LCD monitor with a DVI input would be a candidate for a second monitor.

Completely agree with RAM.

Personally, I think that the last point he made is an effective solution. You could even connect a VGA display using an adapter.

On a side note, if memory serves I believe that there is a Japanese web site that has a hardware hack, a major one, that allows you to do this. Unfortunately I don't have a link.

Or VGA if you have a DVI-VGA adapter (Included with the Mac), you can use any display
