Hey everyone, sorry if this has been brought up before but I couldn't find any information for the life of me!!

Theres a refurbished macbook pro I was looking at which has exactly everything I need, except a firewire port. So as you may have gathered from the title of this thread, I was wondering if it was possible to get one installed at a later date if anyone knows anything and could help me out.

I need one for recording - live situations and others so a usb adapter wont do

Thanks heaps!

well this is the url - http://store.apple.com/au/product/FB471X/A?mco=MjE0NDk5Mw - it doesnt mention anything about a firewire port, i saw another refurbished macbook pro from america (i think) that had under the specs;

extension | firewire (blah blah blah i dont know the specifics)

but if every macbook pro does have a firewire port then never mind haha, im new to this :p

That model of MacBook Pro definitely has FireWire, FireWire 800 to be exact. So there is no need to worry about it, if you need more FireWire ports you can get an expresscard adapter.

great!!! thanks so much guys, you've been a real help.

thats very good news. eee my first mac!
