I'd like to buy an anker usb hub, but they only sell usb 3.0 ports. My problem is that my iMac only has usb 2.0 ports. Does anybody know if a 3.0 hub can be plugged into a usb 2.0 port. I expect that it won't run at the usb 3.0 speeds, but if it does, it would be nice to know.

Yes, it should work.

Of course it'll work, but it'll just run at USB2.0 speeds.

This!
Don't go for the cheapest as they - in my experience - are unstable and lose connection very easily. Nothing more dangerous than unexpected "your hard drive was not ejected properly" warnings! That could wipe all your data!
