Currently I'm using a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter, but I'd like to free up the port and use the USB 3.0 monitor instead. However it seems a lot of USB 3.0 to HDMI adapters don't work, or are inconsistent - is this because the USB->HDMI adaper is not powerful enough to drive a display at the same rate a thunderbolt/HDMI can?
