My buddy has a windows formatted ipod, if he enables "enable ipod as hard drive" can he connect his ipod to my mbp and get files from me, thru drag and drop ?

The Windows iPods are FAT32 I believe (might be FAT16, but I doubt it), which your mbp should be able to read. In which case, you should have no problem copying files to the iPod.

Now, if it were the other way around, and the iPod was formatted for a Mac, then you would not be able to copy files from Windows, without 3rd party utilities to read Mac filesystem formats.
