Can Adobe programs be saved through Apple's Time Machine?

I purchased a Macbook Pro that has a bunch of Adobe programs pre-installed. Before I start using the computer and adding any personal files of my own, I want to backup the entire computer so if anything were to happen, I would still have all those Adobe programs. Is that possible or am I totally screwed and would need the original installation disks?
