As the question states, can an iPhone 4S on Tmobile USA be used as a hotspot on the refarmed 3G network?

What if you are on the old Unlimited data plan with the Even More (supported Hotspot with older phones before.. would it work with the newer iPhone)?

I think you should be fine. Type in the right APNs under tethering. Epc.tmobile.com and leave username and password blank.

Correct. You can tether with the iPhone on tmobile even if you don't have tethering added to your plan. It's probably because the iPhone isn't an officially supported device in their system.

Currently this even works if you're on the truly unlimited plan so those in refarmed markets can tether as much as they want. I suspect Tmobile will close this loophole as more areas become refarmed.

Does truly unlimited plan include the earlier "Even More" unlimited data plans with hotspot?
