I made the mistake of upgrading my jailbroken iPod Touch 4th Gen from 4.3.3 to the current version, 6.0.1.

Can it be downgraded back to 4.3.3 and how? I tried Shift-or-Option + clicking "Restore" with iTunes with a 4.3.3 install ready but it wouldn't allow that. I also do not have an SHSH blob. I didn't know anything about that until it was too late.

Is there a working method found for this?

Thanks.

Is your pod jailbroken now or was it jben on 4.3.3

Cydia automatically saves blobs, check top of main page in cydia for shsh's or use TinyUmbrella or redsn0w to get blobs from cydia

My iPod Touch is no longer jailbroken. Before the upgrade, I was on 4.3.3 and it was jailbroken at that time.

Knowing this, will using TinyUmbrella or Redsn0w with blobs still work? I will read up on that now... thanks

The most definitive way to see if you can downgrade would probably be to jailbreak it with the current iOS that is on it now, and then see if Cydia shows your SHSH blobs saved for whichever version you'd like to downgrade to. I didn't know until last week that Cydia saves your blobs for you and it's extremely easy to download the blobs from Cydia and downgrade your iOS. When you open Cydia, it will show "SHSH: 4.0.3, 5.0.1, 5.1.1" etc, at the top of the screen. The blobs that have been automatically saved for you will show up in green in that list, then you can simply use TinyUmbrella to download your blobs and then use RedSn0w to downgrade. If you don't see any in green, then you might be out of luck...

use redsn0w Extras/SHSH blobs/Query (best way as it will all so show if they are full blobs)

or

use TU main screen save SHSH

TU initial setup is to request SHSH's from Cydia (advanced screen)

No need to jailbreak and install Cydia

If Cydia saved any blobs you can downgrade with that using redsn0w
Go to Extras/Even more/Restore and follow instructions

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! WOOOOOW! It worked!

I really appreciate the time you took to respond to my question/troubles. I thought I'd made an irreparable mistake to what was (and now is again!) my jailbroken device.

GRAZIE!!!!

you need to use redsn0w to downgrade from 6.x
